About

Shannon Aguiar is a photographer and media consultant rooted in the vibrant culture of the West Coast. She currently calls Southern California home, where she quietly pursues her passion for visual storytelling as the Sponsorship Media Lead for Same Same But Different Music Festival, and as a Sponsorship Media Consultant for various musicians, brands, and events including Events.comWonderfront Music Festival, and the Temecula Balloon and Wine Festival. She also works as a Photography Assistant, AC, and Gaffer at Mattel

Her background in media, marketing, and journalism began while capturing moments for her college campus' newspaper and online magazine as well as managing some of the schools' social media platforms. She gradually gained traction through enriching internships at esteemed publications like Los Angeles MagazineTokyo Journal, and OC Weekly. Transitioning into freelance work, Shannon found herself behind the lens of diverse subjects, from shooting editorial covers to food, musicians to environmental crises, products, portraits and more. Following her time at Whittier College, she took on roles as a Marketing Coordinator and Senior Marketing Strategist in San Francisco, leading creative projects, designing products, managing social media, and producing photoshoots before moving back to Los Angeles two years later to pursue photography and media management full time.  

Her collaborations have been varied, from established brands like Meta, Bring a Trailer, and Materna Medical to contributing her lens to publications including Red Canary MagazinePasadena Magazine and The Almanac.
